Upper Canyon Update

June 5, 2011 By frenchy

Big South – getting crankier… about 8″ over the top mark now.

Joe Wright – still not in yet… but getting closer.

Spencer Heights – med-high and starting to juice… run #1 was at 2.7, run #2 at 3.0 on the new gauge… probably much higher by the time we got back to town… very warm up there.

Little South – looks to be a medium flow now… over the first rock, but not splashing onto the second yet. The wooden gauge is backed up with main branch water.

Lots of wood lurking at the water’s edge all over the Canyon. There is another stick in the Goal Posts on Spencer, and another channel wide log in Cyclotron. There’s some big wood across the left `1/3 of the river just below Mountain Park in Lower Rustic. And I’m sure things will change again tonight!

Lots of grinning folks up the Canyon today…

Some recent press… Rock Report featured in the Coloradoan… and good to hear from the Larimer County Sheriff.
