Pine View 1.4 at 0700

May 15, 2011 By frenchy

OK, false alarm on the “game on” post last week. But damn that looked real! Fortunately this stalled-out storm has also come with cold Wx in the high country. Otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this post, I’d be filling sand bags.

Currently 36.7F, misty, drizzly and cold. Forecast for lower canyon:

Today: Areas of drizzle, then a slight chance of rain after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. South southeast wind between 6 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Possibly a bit generous, but I’ll call it 1.4 on a nice cool, grey afternoon.

Slight dip, thanks to cooler temps and snow in the high country. Currently 39.6F, patchy fog and calm.

Wx for Gateway Park: Today: Sunny, with a high near 65. North northwest wind between 5 and 9 mph.

Pineview ~2 @ 10am

Be warned… the water is COLD… way colder than earlier in the week.

The North Fork must be contributing as the Filter Plant looks higher than above the confluence.

Pine View 2.15

May 11, 2011 By frenchy

Currently 37F and snowing. This morning’s rain turned to snow around 0630 and the Riv is coming up. They must be dumping Horsetooth again, because there’s more water in the Poudre in LaPorte than in the Canyon. Water is reportedly three feet above the trail at Lyon’s Park and the ditches are full. Boaters be cautious. Tubers…don’t, just don’t.

Wx forecast for Gateway Park:
Today: Rain and snow likely before noon, then rain. High near 38. North northeast wind between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible
