We have a major wildfire in the upper canyon that started last night. Road is closed at Rustic. Lower canyon is still open for recreation. But recreating in the lower canyon is not recommended. Expect heavy emergency vehicle traffic all day. And very smokey conditions with limited visibility. If you have health issues- just stay out of the canyon. If you don’t need to be in the canyon, please skip that planned trip for the time being. Also expect heavy air traffic.
