The Little South of the Poudre is NOT Runnable

May 8, 2021 By Camp Falbo

This just in from a FB post from Jaxle Rose via FoCo Kayaking: “Do not kayak the Little South Fork Cache la Poudre.”

If you want his full dissertation on the ordeal, check out FoCo Kayaking on the FB, but the take away is- there will be NO Little South boating of any kind this year… PERIOD. The log debris from the Cameron Peak Fire is quite extensive and will only continue to get worse every rain event we have. He described over 42 portages and a total of 60 seconds of actual floating on the 12 mile stretch.

So, Wright OFF the Little South this year and find some other creek to paddle. Preferably one that is not in or below the burn scar of the CPF.

Thank you Jaxle for the report.
