Car in River – Middle Narrows

July 12, 2023 By RMA

At approximately mile marker 104 on highway 14 there is a blue Toyota sedan that is in the middle of the Poudre River.  The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office- Emergency Services Unit is working with Colorado State Patrol and Colorado Dept. of Transportation with plans on removing the vehicle from the water.  Due to the location and current water levels, responders are currently unable to remove the vehicle safely, therefore, it will remain in place until further notice.  Responders are waiting for the water levels to drop and a time that the highway can be temporarily closed for extraction.  All of the area Dispatch Centers are aware of the situation, so please do not call 911.

Rattler at lower rustic put in

July 1, 2023 By Marty

Heads up from Andy Matthews…
Just wanted y’all to know that I almost got bit by a rattle snake at the lower rustic (Dadd) put in yesterday (June 28th). It seems to have it’s hole/home there. We actually couldn’t even put in there and had to put in on river RIGHT after the low bridge instead of river left. Just wanted people to be aware, because someone could easily get bitten one of these days, and that’s a ways from a hospital.
Thanks Andy!

Lost and found: Raft in Upper Rustic

July 1, 2023 By Marty

From Kyle at RMA… Couple of RMA guides unpinned the gray Star raft in Upper Rustic below the blow out. It’s now at RMA’s shop. There’s no contact info on the boat. Come get it if it’s yours!

There is a raft pinned just below the Black Hollow blow out. All are ok. No need to call emergency services if you spot it in there.

Log Hazard Alert- Lower Rustic

June 5, 2023 By Camp Falbo

Above Death By Dismemberment Bridge (DBD, Decapitation) in Lower Rustic there is a large log submerged on a rock. I don’t know how long it’s been there. I did not see it on our run Saturday, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t there. Apparently it has been flipping boats.
Information and pic courtesy of our new River Ranger, Alison. Thank you.

With all of this rain and higher flows, be on the constant look out for new debris!

Happy Boating!
